Who is Imam- Al Bukhari?
Abu Abdullah Mohamed bin Ismail Al- Bukhari was an orphan at a very early age and was fostered by his mother along with his brother. He was born in the Uzbek city of Bukhara in 194 AH. His mother grew him well in terms of education and as a person. He was given the love of science and religion from the very early age. The learning of Imam Bukhari

When he went for Hajj at the age of 16, he decided to stop there to learn more about the religion Islam. For the six years, he lived in the holy city of Makkah and collected the Hadiths. Not only had that he stayed in Makkah, for the sake of knowledge and determination to know more about the Prophet’s (صلى الله عليه وسلم) teachings.
He traveled from Makkah to Baghdad, Damascus, Kufa, Egypt, Khorasan and many others. He looked for all the Hadiths and study them so that he could note them. The distinguished factor of Imam Al- Bukhari
The superlative factor about Imam Al-Bukhari was that he used to investigate greatly whenever some Hadiths reaches out to him. He digs out the history, narrator, and the reference from where they have heard about it. Imam Al-Bukhari never used to write down any Hadiths before doing ablution (Wudu) and offering set of prayers that are two (2) rakhats. The compilation of Sahih Bukhari
The completion of Sahih Bukhari or Al-Jama’ah Al-Sahih took around 166 years to get completed. The collection is a symbol of dedication, enthusiasm, intellect and sincerity towards religion that someone decided to do it for the sake of future and existing Ummah.
Imam Al-Bukhari once told that once Ishaq Ibn Rahawi, who was also his teacher from Nishapur, asked him if he could make a collection of the truthful practices of Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) life. The final composition of Sahih Al-Bukhari turned out be the collection of 7,275 Hadiths from 600,000. He did precise check and balance along with the investigation to finalize the Hadiths and be sure about their authenticity. He had a benchmark for checking each narration.
