The said guidance will give you a basic idea of Hajj and the detailed activities step by step involved during the 5 days of Hajj.
Do you know the basic details of the 1st Day of Hajj – 8th of Zul-Hijjah?
On the day of 8th of Zul-Hijjah, all the Hajj pilgrims immediately after the sunrise have to begin their journey towards Mina area after wearing Ihraam. As we have already mentioned in our earlier articles regarding the different categories of Hajj, the Hajj pilgrims who are performing the Hajj under any of these 3 categories need to ensure the ruling of Ihraam as mentioned below:
1). Those Hajj Pilgrims who are performing Hajj-e-Ifraad and Hajj-e-Qiraan
The Mufrid Hajj pilgrims (whose Ihraam is for Hajj only) and Qarin Hajj pilgrims (whose Ihraam is for Hajj and Umrah together) both are already in the state of Ihraam, therefore, don’t need to worry about wearing Ihraam. Read more: Basic Understanding of 2nd Day of Hajj – 9th of Zul-Hijjah
2). Those Hajj Pilgrims who are performing Hajj-e-Tamutto
The Mutamatte Hajj pilgrims who had taken off his Ihraam after the observance of Umrah, as well as the residents of Haram, will wear Ihraam on 8th of Zul-Hijjah considering the very first act of this day.
3). What Hajj pilgrims doing Hajj-e-Tamutto should do?
They should take a bath according to the Sunnah and should come into Masjid-Al-Haraam after wearing the Ihraam. It is preferable for them to perform a Tawaaf. After offering two Rak’ah of Tawaaf, which is Wajib, they should offer another two Rak’ah of Nafl prayers with the intention of Ihraam.
If someone had worn Ihraam for Hajj from the place of stay, that is permissible as well. In fact, it is better to do so nowadays since the arrangement of vehicles and buses has become quite difficult.
4). What is the Dua while making the intention of Hajj?
One should make the intention of Hajj in the following manner:
O’ Allah I intend to perform Hajj for the sake of Your pleasure, so make it easy for me and accept it From me.
5). What should be done after making the Intention of Hajj?
After once the above-mentioned intention and its dua is being done, the Hajj pilgrim should recite Talbiya.
The text of Talbiya is:
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ والنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكُ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ
Remember! The restrictions of Ihraam would begin soon after pronouncing Talbiya.
The Ihraam for Hajj will start immediately after pronouncing Talbiya. At this point, all the aforementioned restrictions of Ihraam would come into effect.
Thereafter one should proceed to Mina. Mina is a large valley in between two-sided hills at a distance of three miles from Makkah Mukarrama.
It is an act of Sunnah to offer five times prayers from the Zuhr prayer of the 8th Zul-Hijjah up to the Fajr prayer of the 9th of Zul-Hijjah in Mina and to stay there overnight. It is Makrooh to stay in Makkah or to reach Arafaat directly on this night. (Zubdah).
