A Very Tragic News

It is witnessed today by everyone that an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 passenger Jet which was heading towards Nairobi was crashed in totality and none of the survivors was reported in the incident. The flight was scheduled to leave Bole airport in Addis Ababa in the morning time at 8.38 am as per the local time, however, at 8.44 am the flight lost the communication with the control tower.

Flight ET302, operated on a Boeing 737-800 Max aircraft, and was crashed near the town of Bishoftu, some 60 kilometers southeast of the Ethiopian capital, six minutes after takeoff.


Number of Passengers

It is briefed in the media that the flight was carrying 149 passengers and 8 crew members from 33 different countries out of which no one has been reportedly survived.

Model of the Aeroplane

The plane is the latest version of the 737 family, the world’s best-selling modern passenger aircraft and was considered as one of the most reliable in the airplane industry.


State-owned Ethiopian is one of the biggest carriers on the continent by fleet size. It said previously that it expected to carry 10.6 million passengers last year.

Condolence by the Ethiopian Prime Minister

The Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s office first confirmed the incident on Twitter.

THE OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER, ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE OF ETHIOPIA, WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS ITS DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILIES OF THOSE THAT HAVE LOST THEIR LOVED ONE ON ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES BOEING 737 ON REGULAR SCHEDULED FLIGHT TO FLIGHT TO NAIROBI, KENYA THIS MORNING.
