According to the sources, experts say that bad breath occurs in Ramadan due to many reasons. During the fast, the mouth becomes dry which leads to bad breath. Bad breath can also be caused due to no exposure to liquids for a long time.

  1. Rinse between Iftar and sehri to get rid of leftovers from food and drink.
  2. Brush your teeth thoroughly after Iftar and Sehri.
  3. Use floss to clean teeth from leftover food particles.
  4. Smoking should be avoided as much as possible during Ramadan.
  5. Coffee, tea, energy drinks and Ramadan drinks should be avoided as much as possible.
  6. Avoid onions, garlic, dairy products and hot foods.
  7. Do not use spicy foods.

Why Should we Avoid Drinks During Ramadan?

Drinks that are too sweet can cause problems. They cause dryness in the mouth and slows down the production of saliva. However, in case of taking these types of drinks, rinse your mouth thoroughly. And use plenty of fluids between Iftar and Sehri. Doing so increases the capacity of the salivary glands and keeps the mouth fresh during fasting.
