King Salman Announces to Exempt Dependent Fees on Expired Saudi Iqama

According to the new development plan, a dependent fee was made compulsory on all the Saudi expats whose family is living in the country. However, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, has approved the following. For more information, read the article below.

Expansion of Financial Support

According to the reports by the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz has also approved the expansion of financial support to the sectors, institutions and individuals affected by the Coronavirus crisis. The assistance approved for affected organizations and individuals at the beginning of the Corona Crisis will be further expanded to make full use of it.

Exemption of Dependent Fees

According to the statement of King Salman,

The dependent fees on Saudi expats have been exempted for one (1) month where Saudi Iqama has been expired, and with an additional one (1) if needed.



What Statement is given by the Government?

The Royal extension of government aid states that,

Aid for Saudi nationals working in the private sector affected by the Corona crisis will continue under the ‘Sand System’.

What About those who have been Blacklisted?

The statement further added that,

Saudi expat workers ‘recruitment agencies’ fines will be waived. The private sector, which was blacklisted for non-compliance with the license, will be reinstated.



What Condition is Applied on the Speech Program?

The statement added a condition for the private sector speech program that said, The addition of one Saudi employee will be considered in all private sector speech programs. Institutions that did not comply with the minimum wage for citizens that were suspended from business will now be reinstated.

For How Many Days will the Fees be Suspended?

According to the statement, Fees on all imports will be suspended for 30 days, but institutions will have to provide a bank guarantee.

What Other Concessions are made by the Government?

The condition of first payment will be removed and the requests for purchase and payment of goods in installments will be accepted. The collection of value added tax by the customs agencies will be delayed. Similarly, applications for refund of value added tax will be accepted immediately while the application will be examined later.



What About those Who do not Pay Taxes and Zakat?

Institutions and individuals who do not pay taxes and Zakat will be given a discount in two months and they will be given more time. In particular, concessions will be made to those who are obliged to pay during the crisis.

How Much Aid is Approved by the Saudi Government?

The Saudi government had approved a total of 214 billion riyals in aid to reduce the economic impact of Corona on the country, which has benefited private sector organizations and individuals.
