Background of Ban on Umrah and Hajj pilgrims to visit any city other than Makkah and Madinah
As we all know that Umrah pilgrims were not allowed to easily travel to any city of Saudi Arabia except Jeddah, Makkah, and Madina.
Due to this they were confined and were not allowed to visit the sacred places in Saudi Arabia. The same has been allowed by the relevant ministry and the visitors can access to any city in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Underlying Conditions for Umrah Pilgrims to visit any city
The Council of Ministers, presided over by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman at Al-Salam Palace here on Tuesday, decided to exempt those who have come to the Kingdom to perform Umrah and Ziyarah (visit) of the Prophet’s Mosque from the rule forbidding them from movement outside Makkah, Jeddah and Madinah.

Good News for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia
Now considering the above exemption, it’s good news for those who visit Makkah and Madina for performing Umrah or Hajj, these pilgrims can experience the other cities of Saudi Arabia and explore the various new historical and entertainment places.
These pilgrims can now encounter the new activities as well which the authorities have started in the name of entertainment and promotion of art and culture. This, in turn, will help the Saudi economy as it will definitely boost further due to more tourism and spending by the pilgrims will increase the overall resources as well. It is expected that allowing the Umrah and Hajj pilgrims to visit any other city of Saudi Arabia will increase the number of pilgrims to perform Umrah and Hajj and will help in flourishing the economy of Saudi Arabia.
Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs is expecting an increase of around 1.5 million pilgrims this year compared to the last year figure of 7 million.
The initiative taken by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs is really appreciable and worth attracting tourism in the country.
