Miracles of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in the battle of Uhud

We have heard many stories about our Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), that he healed the injured person and cure every Muslim. One day in the battle of Uhud, Qatada’s eye was stuck out so he held his eyes in his hands and came directly to Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).

The Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) looked at him with compassion and mercy and then, he placed his saliva upon his eye and placed it back into the eye socket of Qatada. By the grace of Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’alah and the miracle that Allah blessed Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), his eye sight returned back through the blessed touch of the messenger of Allah.

What is Uhud Battle?

The Battle, was the second military encounter between the residents of Makkah and the Muslims, preceded by the Battle of Badr in 624, where a small Muslim army had defeated a larger army of Makkah. What was the main Objective of this Battle?

The main objective and conspiracy of this battle was to murder Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and to destroy Islam. However, the Muslims were confidentially defeating the army of the people of Makkah, therefore, the leaders of Makkah were enraged and became quite angry. They were taken down and upset that their large number of army was lost and defeated to a much insignificant and comparatively smaller Muslim army. They wanted to redeem themselves and destroy Islam once and for all. Another Miracle of Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم)

There are numerous instances which are reported unanimously is the sick and the wounded being healed through his blessed breath. 1). An eye that was shot by an arrow

The battles is known as the Yawn, Abu Qatada was hit on his face by an arrow. Our Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) touched his face with his blessed hand. Abu Qatada said:

I felt no pain at all, nor did wound fester. He also said: “I was at the noble Prophet’s side during the battle, he shot arrow at the unbeliever until his bow broke. Then he gave arrow to me, telling me to shoot them the arrows, he gave me were without flights, without the feathers which help them to fly. He was ordering to shoot them, which I did and they flew like flighted arrows, hitting the unbeliever bodies and piercing them”.

2). Defensive Position taken at mount Uhud

The Muslim defenders took up position long the slopes of mount Uhud, the mountain itself prevented the attacking army from penetrating from the direction.

The Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) assigned about 50 archers to take up post on a nearby rocky hill to prevent vulnerable Muslim army from attack at the rear. This strategic decision was meant to protect Muslim army from being surrounded by the opposing cavalry. 3). The Outcome of Battle Uhud

After a battle of an individual duels the two armies engaged. The confidence of the Makkah army quickly begin to dissolve as Muslim fighters worked their way through their lines.

The Makkah army was pushed back, and all attempts to attack the flanks were thwarted by the Muslim archers on the hillside, soon Muslim victory appeared certain. Read more: 5 Attempts to Steal the Body of Prophet (P.B.U.H) from Madinah

At the critical moment many of the archers disobeyed orders and ran down the hill to claim the spoils of war. This abundant the Muslims of an army vulnerable and shifted the outcome of the battle.

4). Muslims are Retreated to the Hill

The Muslims archers abandoned their posts out of greed. The Makkah cavalry found their opening, they attacked the Muslims from the rear and cut off groups from another one.

Few engaged in hand to hand combat, while others tried to retreat to Madinah. The remaining Muslims retreat to the hill of Mount Uhud which the Makkah cavalry not ascent. The battle ended and the Makkah army withdraw.

5). What lesson Uhud taught us?

The battle taught the Muslims important lesson about greed, military, discipline, and humanity after their previous success at the battle of Badr many had taught that victory was achieve soon after the battle that chastised the Muslims disobedience and greed as the reason for defeat, Allah describe the battle as both a punishment and test of their steadfastness.

Allah did indeed fulfill his promise to you when you, with his promises were about to annihilate your enemy. Until you flinched and fell to disputing about the order. And disobeyed it after he brought you in sight which you covet.

Then did he divert you from your foes in order to test you, but he forgave you. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’alah grace to those who believe. Quran 3:152
