In ِِAl-Suleiman Masjid the Muadhin has passed away whilst waiting to call the Fajr Adan. The Muadhin name is Abdul Haq Halabi and he was 60 years old, no one knows the reason of his sudden death, but he was sitting and reciting the Quran before the time of Fajr and he passed away just few minutes before the Fajr prayer. Muadhin was originally from Syria but living in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia from last 40 years.
Death is inescapable and no one can escape from it. So, its our good deeds that determine our ending. The death is a beautiful gift for a believer.
In Quran Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’alah mentioned many hadith about death. No one knows where and when his/her will stop breathing. However, it is an undeniable reality that the death is something that is going to come to each and every soul. Allah Subhana-Wa-Ta’alah says in the Holy Qur’an.
Hadith which actually defines and describes Death
Do you know what death is? Have we really understood the purpose of death, have we been avoiding taking or thinking about it merely because the thought of leaving the world is too scary?
“Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. (3:185)”
1). What is death for believers?
The death of the unbeliever gives no pleasure to Allah. Many religions, whether they believe in the soul’s existence in another world like Christianity, Islam and many pagan belief systems, or in reincarnation like many forms of Hinduism and Buddhism, believe that one’s status in the afterlife is a reward or punishment for their conduct during life.
Death in Islam is the termination of worldly life and the beginning of afterlife. Death is predetermined by God, and the exact time but only God knows.
“The gift to a believer is death.” (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1609)
2). The mercy of Allah at the time of death
What should a person do? If someone feels his death approaching, No one knows exactly when he will die, or on which piece of land he will die.
This is by the mercy of Allah towards his slaves, for if a person knew when he was going to die, and he knew that repentance expiates the sins that come before it, perhaps he might indulge in sins and commit evil deeds, and promise himself that one hour before his death he will repent and give up his sin.
“Allah accepts the repentance of the servant so long as his spirit has not arrived at his throat.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
3). The Death of one who seeks Knowledge
When men dies, his good deeds come to end except three things. Ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous son will pray for him. Death is the reality from which none escape. It draws nearer every day, every hour, every minute,
“When death comes to the seeker of knowledge whilst he is in that state [of seeking knowledge], he dies a martyr.” (Al-Targhib wa al-Targhib, v. 1, p. 97, no. 16)
