SAR 500 Fine for Distributing Promotional Brochures on Doorsteps

Announcement by Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has already issued directions mayoralties and municipalities across the kingdom in which it has banned the distribution of marketing brochures and promotional materials at the doorsteps and the public places as well.

Similarly, the sticking of bills in the public places with the objective of promoting any product or services is no longer allowed and is considered as the violation under the above directions.

Application of Above Directions

The abovementioned directions are applicable and enforceable against the individuals, businesses and commercial establishment and shops in both wholesale and retail sectors who commit such violations.

Fine and Penalties Upon Violation

The Ministry has announced that anyone violates the above rule and directions are subject to the fine of SAR.500 along with the other penalties specified for violation of municipal laws.

The objective of the Above Ban

The Ministry has banned the distribution of marketing brochures and promotional materials in order to reduce the environmental pollution and maintenance of public hygiene.

Penalties will be Linked to Saudi IDs or Saudi Expat Iqamas

The Ministry has clarified that the abovementioned penalty on such violation as mentioned above shall be linked to the Saudi IDs or Saudi Expat Iqamas of violators on the basis of phone numbers mentioned in the promotional material.
