Saudi Arabia Announces Working hours During Partial Curfew in Ramadan 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak most of the countries are in complete or partial lock-down. Due to which the public and private sector workplaces were also closed. This resulted in a great loss in economy. As the corona situation is getting worse day by day the lock-down cannot be removed completely. But to prevent further loss in the economy the public and private sector workplaces were decided to reopen.

How is the Reopening Possible?

The government of Saudi Arabia decided to allow certain workplaces to start working but with strict precautions and selected working hours. So that the routine work can also take place as well as corona cannot be increased as well.

What will be the Routine in Ramadan?

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia revealed, the working hours in the blessed month of Ramadan, for the public and private sectors. The ministry said on its page on the Twitter site.



What are the Duty Hours Mentioned for Governmental Employees?

According to the local newspapers, the ministry has said that during Ramadan, ministries, government departments and agencies will be on duty for five hours. The ministry said,

Employees of government departments will start their duty at 10:00 am and will end their duty at 3:00 pm.

Are the Duty Hours of the Private Sector Different?

The ministry said,

Private sector employees will work six hours a day on duty days. Each organization will decide the beginning and end of the duty hours of its employees according to its convenience.



But they have to strictly keep in mind the duty hours which cannot be exceeded otherwise strict actions will be taken against them. And the Eid al-Fitr holiday for the current year 1441 AH, and following the institution’s instructions regarding the regulation of financial institutions’ work “remotely” according to specific controls.

SAMA’s circular:

SAMA said, in a circular to, that the daily working hours of bank branches during the working days of the holy month of Ramadan will be from 10:00 am in the morning until 02:00 pm  in the evening, to be announced these branches and their working times through the available means.

SAMA added, that the daily working hours for the transfer centers during the period are from 07:00 am in the morning until 04:00 pm in the evening, according to the estimate of the transfer centers, provided that the working hours of these centers are not less than (5) hours per day, provided that the announcement is made About these centers and their working times through the available means.
