Saudi Arabia Approves the Chinese Sinovac and Sinopharm Vaccines

Sinovac and Sinopharm, two more COVID-19 vaccines, were approved by Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, bringing relief to foreign workers who had been waiting months to return to the Gulf state.

The Chinese COVID-19 vaccines created by Sinopharm and Sinovac have finally been licensed by Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia recently made it possible for fully vaccinated people from countries with travel bans, such as Pakistan, to travel straight to the Kingdom.

Licensed Vaccines for COVID-19

Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer-Biontech, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna are the four (4) vaccines currently licensed for use in the Kingdom.

According to the Ministry of Health,

Those who had completed their immunization course with Sinopharm or Sinovac could be permitted into the Kingdom if they had obtained a booster shot of a vaccine that was approved in the country.

Two (2) Dosages are Necessary for Better Results!

Recoveries in COVID-19

The ministry said 456 patients had recuperated from COVID-19, expanding the absolute number of recoveries to 529,833.

About 62.05 percent of the population has had one dosage, while 37.70 percent has had both. At this rate, 70% of the population will have received both doses by October 9, 2021.
