Saudi Arabia intends to issue electronic Saudi Visit visas to visitors to experience the sporting and the cultural events, starting with the upcoming Formula E motor racing competition.

Saudi Arabia has already geared up new electronic visa system” Sharek” to proceed to focus more on the entertainment sector to depend less on the oil industry in the future (which has recently suffered from a decrease in international prices). The entertainment visas are expected to be issued from December 2018.

Saudi Arabia is ready to welcome fans of Formula E motor racing from around the globe since Formula E motor racing competition is going to be held in upcoming December 2018 near Riyadh.

Procedure to apply for an Electronic visas “Sharek” for Formula E Race

Via www.sharek.sa/formulae, travelers who buy a ticket for the race can obtain a 14-day visa for SR 640, the equivalent of approximately $170.

Applicants need to complete an online form and upload photograph and a copy of passport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will then confirm eligibility within seconds. International travelers are confined to one ticket per visa.

The confirmation of the visa will send through email to the applicants, once it is approved by the MOFA and the same email will be used to enter Saudi Arabia. Recommended: UAE introduces new visa system

The visitors will be allowed to visit specific cities of Saudi Arabia for the period. Currently, Saudi Arabia visa is restricted to expat workers and their families, business travelers and Hajj/ Umrah pilgrims (traveling to holy mosques in Mecca and Madina).

Tourism is one of the key features of Saudi Arabia’s vision of 2030 to flourish the economy of KSA mitigates the dependency on the oil sector.
