Umrah Pilgrims Visiting Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom is committed to serve the Umrah and Haj pilgrims with providing the best possible facilities. In order to meet their commitments, the relevant Ministry keeps on introducing various facilities inside and outside the Haram of Makkah and Madina which makes easier for the Umrah and Haj pilgrims to offer their obligations. It is the responsibility of the Umrah pilgrims to understand their roles and duties and properly follow the instructions and the relevant guidelines issued by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah to avoid fines and penalty for Umrah Pilgrims.
Compliance by Umrah Pilgrims for Leaving KSA Before Expiry of Visa
It has been observed that certain Umrah pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and going Madina for Ziyarah, sometimes violate the laws and regulations related to their stay in Saudi Arabia. Some of them try to visit other cities other than Jeddah, Makkah, and Madina, like for example they visit their relatives in other cities not allowed to visit under Umrah visa regulations, few of them stay in Saudi Arabia more than the time deadline of expiration of the Umrah visa, certain individuals try to do particular jobs illegally to earn money.
These all instances as mentioned above are prohibited under the Umrah visa regulations and is already communicated to the individuals by the relevant Ministry through various means and publications in newspapers and other related media. Any Umrah pilgrim visiting Saudi Arabia must restrict himself/herself to the two cities i.e. Jeddah, Makkah and Madina as allowed under his visa. Fines & Penalty for Umrah Pilgrims Staying After Expiration of Entry Visa
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has announced that,
Any of the Umrah pilgrims staying in the Kingdom after the expiration of his/her visa will be fined amounting to SR. 50,000 and this will also include the imprisonment for the period of 6 months before the deportation.
Based on the above mentioned directions issued by the relevant authority, it is highly requested to all those Umrah pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia to stick to their travel schedules and leave the country before the expiration of their entry visas. If the same is not followed, the violators will face severe penalties and fines as mentioned above.
Fines & Penalty for Hajj and Umrah Company
If a Haj and Umrah company fails to report a violation, the amount of fine would be SR 100,000 with one-year imprisonment for the owner of the company.
The authority has warned the Saudi expats and Saudi citizens of Saudi Arabia for not transporting, giving shelter, hiring or facilitating any hiding for those with expired Umrah visas.
Fines & Penalty for the Saudi Expats and Citizen of Saudi Arabia
If any Saudi expats or Saudi citizen who transports, giving shelter, hiring or facilitating an Umrah or Haj pilgrims will face a fine up to SR. 100,000 and 6 months imprisonment. Additionally, expatriates would be deported.
Based on the strict instructions and the warning as mentioned above including the fines and penalties for the violators, it is strictly recommended that Umrah pilgrims must adhere to their travel schedule and must leave the kingdom before their visas expire.
