Since the end of last month, the number of infections in Pakistan has increased and authorities have announced that the country was witnessing the second (2nd) wave of Covid-19. Over the past six (6) days, Pakistan has recorded about 2,000 cases of the new Coronavirus a day and officials have warned that the positivity rate for the disease has risen.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) temporarily suspended the issuance of work and visa visas to a dozen countries, including Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Kenya and Afghanistan are the opposing countries that suffer from the new visa guidelines of the UAE government.

The Ban has been Imposed Indefinitely!
According to the UAE embassy,
The ban has been imposed indefinitely. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has once again banned the issuance of visit visas and work visas for citizens of several countries, including Pakistan, because of Corona.
The UAE embassy in Pakistan told that “the UAE government has banned tourist and work visa permits for Pakistanis in view of the second (2nd) wave of Corona. However, visas for persons traveling on red passports from Pakistan, including ministers, diplomats and senior government officials, are being processed at the embassy”.
Statement of Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary Regarding the Suspension of Issuance of New Visit Visas!
On the other hand, a statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said, “We are aware of the temporary suspension of issuance of new visit visas by the UAE to 12 countries including Pakistan is. This suspension will not apply to visas already issued”.
The statement added that the move could be related to the second wave of Corona. We are confirming this with the UAE authorities.

However, according to the UAE embassy, ”the ban has been imposed indefinitely. Its demise depends on the current wave of Corona. If it slows down quickly, the normal visa service will be restored soon”.
UAE Stopped Issuing Visas on March 17, 2020!
Earlier, on March 17, 2020, when the virus was declared a global epidemic by the World Health Organization; the UAE stopped issuing all visas except for diplomatic passports due to the corona virus.
Due to Least Corona Cases, Visit Visas were Issued by Companies!
However, visit visas were issued in August, while certain companies were allowed to issue work visas in September. In September, it was allowed to travel to the United Arab Emirates in the event of a negative Corona test.
Issuance of Work Permits Started on October 5!
The UAE Immigration Authority also allowed the issuance of work permits to domestic workers, government and parastatals on October 5. However, it has now been announced that the decision to issue visas for these categories will be withdrawn until the Corona virus situation improves.
