As we all know that Uthman ibn Affan (رضي الله عنه) was the third caliph. He belonged to a noble family of Quraysh a tribe of Makkah. He was born on 573 AC. Uthman ibn Affan (رضي الله عنه) was a great Islamic scholar as he knew reading and writing even before the acceptance of Islam.
He was a very prominent Muslim to serve Islam by all means. Uthman ibn Affan (رضي الله عنه) participated almost all the battle with the non-believers in which the Holy Prophet Muhammad whad also taken a part, except “Badr”.
Uthman (رضي الله عنه) is an example of modesty and good manners, he was one of the lucky people who were promised Paradise when they were alive. Uthman (رضي الله عنه) was very gentle and honest person with high ethics.

We heard the story about Uthman (رضي الله عنه) and the well in our childhood. In Madinah there was a well belonging to a Jew it was only source of water in that part, and the Jew charged Muslims exorbitant amount of water. 1). He bought the well for Muslims
Uthman (رضي الله عنه) was a businessman, Uthman (رضي الله عنه) opened the well for Allah’s sake, allowing people to fetch as much as they wanted.
The Jew offered Uthman (رضي الله عنه) the other half, which ‘Uthman (رضي الله عنه) bought for 20,000 Dirhams (Really kind of Uthman (رضي الله عنه), if me, I would have negotiated it down to almost zero, since it was now worthless to the Jew.

One day a Sahabi offered to buy the well from Uthman (رضي الله عنه). He refused the offer then the Sahabi offer much more. But Uthman (رضي الله عنه) don’t want to sell the well so he refused all the offers and said:
“Allah has offered ten times the reward for charity given to Muslims”. The well was kept for the free use for Muslims.
3). Date and Palm Trees around the well
The well and the surrounding ground still nominally in the name of Uthman (رضي الله عنه) since it was charitable and inherited. Date and palm tree grew on the ground. The dates were also harvested and given to charity in the name of Uthman ibne Affan (رضي الله عنه). This continued during the time of the Abbasid period and later. Uthman (رضي الله عنه) and the Bank Account
In the present history of Saudi Arabia the decision of Uthman (رضي الله عنه) about the money was distributed into two parts. Half to be given in charity and other half to be reinvested.
A bank account exists in the name of Uthman ibn Affan (رضي الله عنه), from which half of all moneys gained from the plantation are remitted, while the other half is still being given out as charity. The Account is to be Reinvested
An amount was invested into purchasing land around the Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madinah. This was developed into a hotel and accommodation for visitors to the mosque, and as per arrangement, half the income was also given out as charity, while half is being remitted to the account to be reinvested. The charity of Uthman (رضي الله عنه) is upwards of 50 million riyals monthly. Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said about his deed that:
“May Allah reward the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم), not only for their charitable deeds, but also for the help they provided in aiding our noble Prophet for us, and transmitting his message faithfully down to us for our own benefit. May Allah grant them Jannat-al-firdaus and join us with them in the hereafter.”
Saying of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) about Hazrat ‘Uthman’
- Every Prophet will be a special companion of him in the heaven, and my companion there will be Uthman (رضي الله عنه).
- “For, Uthman is a very bashful and modest person. Even angels feel shy in his presence. Shall I not feel shy? “
- Oh Uthman, if Allah someday give you this government and the hypocrites want you to put off this shirt (government) which Allah gave you, then you should not put it off. Holy prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) repeated these words three times (Ibn-e-Majah).
- Once a funeral came in front of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) to offer Salah (funeral prayer) Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) did not offer the prayer of that person and went back. On being asking Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said he kept hatred from Uthman (رضي الله عنه), thus Allah kept hatred from him (Mishkawt).

Trust fund for the Islamic community, it freezes the capital or property, not by disposing of it by selling, giving or inheriting.
