How frequent the engine failures occur on planes?
The airplane engine failure is the worst experience that one can even think in his life to occur. As per the international safety statistics, there are about 25 incidents a year involving a jet engine failing either in flight or on the ground. This translates into less than one for every million flights worldwide.
Delta flight was heading to Baltimore from Atlanta with 150 passengers
It was quite a terrifying experience for passengers of a Delta flight when one of its engines failed which actually forced the plane to make an emergency landing in North Carolina. Delta Flight 1425 was heading to Baltimore from Atlanta on Monday with nearly 150 passengers on board when the aircraft experienced a snag.
The smoke came up into the cabin subsequent to the engine failure
Recounting the scary flight, one passenger said, “After we heard the boom we just saw all this smoke come up into the cabin, and that’s when we really started freaking out.” “It started slowing down a little bit, it started getting hot (and) air cut off.” The porch was quoted as saying in CNN affiliate WMAR.
A passenger recorded a whole incident and it got viral
While a video recorded by a passenger shows a metal nose cone bouncing inside the engine as the aircraft was high in the air.
Passengers said the captain announced about an emergency landing over an hour into the flight. “I just pulled out my phone and I knew I didn’t have service but I just texted my mom … I love you,” another passenger, Tyler Kreuger, said.
Fortunately, the plane landed safely by God’s will
Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely about at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, a spokesperson with the Federal Aviation Administration said. The passengers were later booked in alternate flights to Baltimore.
